“I inherited serious liabilities from Buhari” – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has claimed that he inherited serious liabilities and assets from his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari.

Tinubu disclosed this during his meeting with the Vice-President (Country Programmes) of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Mansur Muhtar, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, and was contained in a statement issued by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, on Tuesday.

Despite the liabilities, however, the President vowed not to give excuses.

He said: “We inherited serious liabilities, but also assets from our predecessors. We do not make any excuses. There are several sectors replete with investment opportunities for smart investors. Access to finance and guarantees can be a hindrance in some cases. You can come in here. We see you as a critical enabler.

“You have partnered with us before. We want to scale it up now and do much more with greater ambition and clearer vision”.
